Pillo Game Jam 2014

During game jams I have a different workflow than during normal game projects due to the tight deadline and implementation of the sounds. I try to get an audio list as soon as possible to make sure that I have everything which needs to be done. I prefer making the sound effects first so that they can be implemented as soon as possible. And to see if the sounds really work in the game. When I'm done with the sounds I compose the music for the game. Most of the time I have more than enough time to also help other teams. The advantage of doing all the sounds effects first is that during the first day everyone has time to implement things while in the end everyone is stressing out to finish the game. In that way you guaranty that all the sounds are in the game. The main difference with normal game projects is that I prefer starting with the music. I want to capture the mood of the game first. After having done that Ill try to make the sounds that have a high priority for the game. After that interface sounds are the next step. And last but not least Ill try to find funny details to accentuate. I'm doing my mix on the fly. so during my production process I make sure that the game is mixed properly.
